Accumula Town looked and smelled nice, with the aroma of Combee all around and a lovely melody playing from the house on the hill.
Just as they were headed towards the center, a fat man dressed in classy robes was escorted by knight-like servants up onto the green grass to their left, and people gathered.
"What is that?" whispered Sylvie.
The Snivy in the ball next to her raised a leafy eyebrow.
"I dunno, ribbon-boy. Go trip in a mud puddle." growled the Snivy.
Sylvie looked away. The nerve of the sassy Snivy, sassing her with style!
"Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I want nothing but to portray an important message to y'all." boomed the large man.
Everyone nervously glanced at each other as he swept his meaty hand out as if to handshake a Shiftry.
"We think of Pokemon as equals to us, but are they? We order them around while they get hurt for no reward! Do our beloved creatures deserve such treatment? Free your Pokemon today, and think of this message for a while, ladies and gentlemen. G'day."
Suddenly, three men in black swooped out of nowhere, grabbing the man and escorting him towards Route 2.
The crowd was whispering by now as they dispersed to everyday life.
As Accumula Town was silenced again, a teenager appeared out of nowhere!
"Wha...?" growled Sylvie.
The green-haired fellow smiled weakly.
"Forgive me. I have a habit of sneaking up on people. I wonder what is wrong with that Ghetsis fellow, he likes to be... dramatic. Care to battle? I have time to kill." said the teenager.
Lindsey seemed to raise an eyebrow.
"So he is named Ghetsis? How would YOU know?" she said.
N smiled, as if they had just exchanged an inside joke.
"I take that as a yes. Go, Zorua!"
A red and black Pokemon popped out, growling as a wolf-like Pokemon should do.
"Go, Snivy! Its up to you!"
A giant hand picked up the ball next to Sylvie, and she sighed a sigh of relief. That Snivy was so annoying that Sylvie would find pleasure in seeing it faint.
Curling her ribbons, Sylvie pawed at the ball to adjust her view.
Zorua attempted a tackle, but Snivy dodged and kicked Zorua. The Pokemon cried out, then used Dark Pulse.
"Argh! So many bad memories!" growled Snivy as she tried to cover her face from the dark aura.
The teenager smiled.
"Why, Snivy, my Zorua has been through a lot. Don't worry, it will let up in a moment."
Snivy looked surprised at how he sensed what she said, and so was Sylvie. How was he supposed to understand them?
When the Dark Pulse stopped, Snivy took the chance to use Vine Whip. Vines cracking against Zorua's back, the Pokemon promptly collapsed, unable to take more.
"Zorua, great job! Retreat!"
A flash of red light blinded Sylvie, and Zorua was gone.
Snivy smirked.
Fishing out some cash from his pocket, the teenager handed Lindsey prize money.
"Here. Have it. I have a lot of money anyways. Also, I'll tell you my name: N."
Lindsey smiled.
"N. How mysterious."
Before she finished her sentence, though, N had vanished.
Author's Note: The story isn't going very fast right now because we haven't got the Striaton badge yet. I forgot the name, so don't expect me to say it!
